Job summary

Berkshire Grey, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager in the Bedford, MA area to lead a team of software engineers in robotics and AI initiatives that improve customer operations.

You will guide sprint planning, coordinate demonstrations, and ensure delivery across development, manufacturing, and field deployments. The role requires a strong background in Python/C++, Linux, and Agile leadership, with 6–8+ years in software and robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field with 8+ years of software development experience, or Master's with 6+ years.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Python or C++ in the SDLC with at least 4 years of work experience.
• Knowledge of Version Control Systems such as Git with at least 2 years of experience.
• System programming in Linux with at least 4 years of experience.
• Experience providing technical leadership within a software team for at least 3 years.
• Experience with Agile practices including sprint planning, code reviews, and documentation.
• Knowledge of robotics, parallel and distributed processing, machine learning, or hardware control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of software engineers, aligning strengths and focus areas.
• Lead regular meetings with component leads to assess needs and provide support.
• Manage team performance and development.
• Lead sprints with clear task ownership and deadlines.
• Ensure development platform availability aligns with project priorities.
• Coordinate with adjacent service teams to ensure program success.
• Coordinate customer demonstrations and deployments.
• Support product manufacturing, commissioning, and field deployment guidance.
• Maintain deep technical understanding of robotic software and hardware and aid troubleshooting.
