Job summary

The role emphasizes rapid prototyping, collaboration with partners, and producing production-ready features, with opportunities to mentor others and influence real-world robotics deployments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Robotics, ML, CV, CS or closely related field.
• Experience in software development in robotics or automation roles.
• Strong development expertise in Python and C++.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and modern software tooling (Git, CI/CD).
• Experience designing and implementing software for real robots and debugging robot systems.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and communicate priorities clearly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to training and adapting ML architectures for robot learning and visual scene understanding.
• Develop and improve Berkshire Grey’s robot policy learning data collection app.
• Determine suitable demonstrations, logs, sensor data, annotations for fine-tuning foundation models.
• Stay updated on robotics advancements and assess applicability to BG challenges.
• Collaborate with external research partners to solve BG problems.
• Mentor junior engineers or interns.
• Prototype solutions rapidly and create demos for stakeholders.
• Own solutions from prototype to production-ready features.
