Technique, Inc. in North Carolina seeks an Automation Technician to weld stainless steel and carbon steel, support QA with layouts, and develop production fixturing. The role blends hands-on welding with robotic programming and troubleshooting to meet customer demand.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of industrial welding, GTAW/GMAW expertise, and familiarity with Motoman/Panasonic/Fanuc robots, GD&T, and blueprint reading. Safety and quality are emphasized in this fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years welding in an industrial setting.
• Basic understanding of GD&T and print reading.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and layout/inspection tools.
• Preferred robotic welding experience with Motoman/Panasonic/Fanuc systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLC programming and robotic system calibration preferred.
• Ability to perform robotic welder preventative maintenance and tool changes.
• Advanced GD&T, layout/inspection, offline programming and CAD/SolidWorks desired.
• Position requires standing/walking and lifting up to 50+ pounds.
• US work authorization (citizenship, visa, or sponsorship) for employment.

Responsabilités

• Set up welders and perform GTAW/GMAW on mild steel joints; read weld symbols and material types.
• Set up and troubleshoot projection welder; understand weld fixture locations and return process.
• Pass blueprint reading tests; perform 1st piece layouts; interpret drawings for conformance.
• Troubleshoot prototype welding and complete quality-required documentation.
• Load and run robot welder in auto mode; repair assemblies and restart programs.
• Interpret CMM reports; adjust robot points and parameters; diagnose dimensional issues.
• Change PLC programs; perform fixture changeovers for production and new parts.
• Make advanced robotic welder adjustments (harmonizing, timing, fixtures).
• Use offline programming to prepare jobs and ensure first piece quality; drive improvements.
• Support QA with layouts and inspections; complete quality documentation; verify conformance.
• Assist in fixturing design and implementation for production launches.
• Follow safety procedures; overtime flexibility as needed.
