Job summary

SGS Consulting in Madison, WI is seeking a welding engineering professional to investigate welding issues, analyze root causes, and optimize operations. You will establish routings, layouts, tooling costs, and control plans for revisions to existing processes and for running changes to current products.

You will work with PDM, SAP, Wplanner/MPM, OMS, and Creo to perform engineering duties, design efficient cell layouts, and contribute to annual capacity and productivity planning.

Qualifications

• Engineering discipline with Welding Emphasis or 5+ years of welding experience.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic welding applications (Fanuc systems).
• Knowledge of welding processes, tooling, TP maintenance and facilities.
• Ability to interact with wage employees, supervisors, managers and other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, gather and analyze data to identify root causes of welding issues.
• Establish routings, pay standards, layouts, weld tooling, weldments costs, OMS, and control plans for revisions to operations.
• Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvements for welding operations.
• Work with PDM, SAP, Wplanner/MPM, OMS, and Creo to perform engineering functions.
• Design cell layouts to improve material flow and presentation.
• Participate in annual factory capacity planning and productivity activities.
• Assist in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.
