Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking an experienced welding engineer to investigate welding issues, design efficient layouts, and drive cost reductions across our Wisconsin operations. The role involves collaborating with ERP and design tools to optimize processes and tooling while improving safety and ergonomics.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with robotic welding, MIG welding, and a solid background in welding processes and tooling.

Qualifications

• Engineering discipline with welding emphasis or 5+ years relevant welding experience.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic welding applications.
• Knowledge of welding processes, tooling and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, gather and analyze data to identify root causes of welding issues.
• Establish routings, pay standards, layouts, tooling and costs for revisions.
• Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvements.
• Collaborate with PDM, SAP, Wplanner/MPM, OMS and Creo.
• Design cell layouts to improve material flow.
• Support annual factory capacity planning and productivity activities.
• Assist in development of baseline data for wage performance pay plans.
