Job summary

Software Placement Group in Pewaukee, WI area is seeking a Robotic Welding Applications Engineer for a direct-hire, 100% on-site role. You will be the primary pre-sales technical lead for robotic welding cells, evaluating customer prints, running feasibility trials, and shaping proposals for high-value automated systems that become an extension of clients’ R&D.

Responsibilities include selecting welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, robotic arc), power sources, tooling, and cell layouts (FANUC, ABB),

Qualifications

• 7+ years with welding automation, pre-sales, or robotic systems integration.
• Experience with GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, and robotic arc welding processes.
• Proficient in 2D/3D layout tools and presenting to client teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main pre-sales technical contact reviewing parts, drawings, and specs.
• Select welding processes, power sources, tooling, and cell layouts for projects.
• Collaborate on technical proposals including layouts, cycle times, and BOMs.
• Coordinate weld samples, trials, and feasibility testing prior to contract.
• Travel to customer facilities ~15% to gather requirements and present solutions.
• Ensure processes comply with AWS D1.1 and ASME IX and customer specs.
