Job summary

Ottenweller Company, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a skilled Robotic Welder Operator to program, set up, and operate industrial robotic welders on a production line.

You will work with engineering on fixtures, perform first-piece inspections, and train other operators while adhering to safety and quality standards.

This non-management, full-time role requires 3–5 years welding experience and basic blueprint proficiency, with opportunities to grow in robotic programming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years welding experience and/or training; basic blueprint proficiency.
• Robotic programming experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and manuals; ability to write routine correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Program robotic welders by controlling robot torch movements and weld sequences.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other operators regarding fixtures and robot capabilities.
• Set up jobs by securing fixtures and components and loading master job in the computer directory.
• Operate robotic welders and perform manual welding as needed on production jobs.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspection per blueprint using calipers and tape measure.
• Train robot operators in basic robotic welder operation and setup.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and log maintenance.
• Clean and prep parts and MIG weld as time permits.
• Other duties as assigned.
