Overview
Are you a Welder or have welding training and are looking for an opportunity to advance your career? Then look no further! Be part of a team that takes pride in building the world's most advanced submarines.
This position utilizes state-of-the-art robotic systems to support the New Columbia Class submarines. Robotic Welders are competent welders whose mission is assembling the massive tubes that will hold Columbia’s intercontinental ballistic missiles. This position will provide you with the training to operate and program the robotic welding machines to accurately cut/bevel and weld the missile tubes.
The tubes are grouped in a “quad Pack” to assemble the Common Missile Compartment (CMC) Section. Once the section is assembled, this quad pack is completed with a hull section, joined with additional quad packs, and then outfitted as a complete missile compartment with decks, systems, and other equipment. Four CMCs will join together to create the 16-tube capacity, and this is all brought together by our robotic welding machines.
Individuals with mechanized welding, UT/RT, CAD/CAM, and CNC are encouraged to apply, but it is not a requirement, and training will be provided. Training will be provided for up to 6 months on 1st shift, and then permanent shift placement will be provided. The 6-month training includes hand, mechanized, mirror, and robot welding.
If you are ready to join our team to deliver the most advanced nuclear-powered submarines, then we welcome you to apply.
These positions are to support 2nd shift.
