Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group in California seeks a board-certified Thoracic Surgeon to join our Thoracic Surgery Associates. The role emphasizes minimally invasive and robotic techniques (RATS), leadership in an expanding thoracic oncology program, and high-quality patient-centered care.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in VATS and RATS, contribute to academic and program development, and collaborate across oncology and primary care to advance services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in thoracic surgery and CA license eligibility
• Fellowship training in Thoracic/Cardiothoracic Surgery required
• Minimum 5–8 years post-training experience preferred
• Experience with da Vinci robotic surgery and VATS preferred
• Commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary tumor boards and care conferences
• Develop and execute growth of the thoracic surgery program
• Provide clinical leadership in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery
• Participate in quality, patient experience, and safety initiatives
• Coordinate referrals and continuity of care across teams
