Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Health seeks an experienced Physician Assistant First Assist to join its Robotic Surgery team in Largo, MD. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Active Maryland license.
• RNFA certification completed or in process.
• One year of First Assist or General Surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• First assist during robotic and other procedures under surgeon supervision.
• Assist with incisions, dissection, suturing, and wound closure.
• Maintain instrument handling, retraction, hemostasis.
• Coordinate with OR staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Document care in the clinical record and support perioperative team.
