Job summary

AP Health in the greater Nashville area is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our surgical team as a Robotic Surgery First Assistant. This is a strictly surgical-only position with no clinic time and requires at least 2 years of first assisting experience; robotics experience is a must.

The successful candidate will function as a Surgical First Assistant in the operating room, position and drape patients, suture and retract tissue, and assist in intra-operative care while

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist; robotics experience is a must.
• Current TN State License.
• Board certified by NCCPA.
• Active BLS and ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room.
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon.
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers.
• Assists in intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned.
• Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations.
• Rotating on-call responsibilities.
