Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Robotic Solutions Engineer (RSE), Field Service, to support robotic medical systems in hospital and manufacturing environments. You will perform setup, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and de-installation activities with guidance, ensuring system availability and a positive customer experience.

Ideal candidates have a technical background, 2–3 years in field service, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
2–3 years in field service, medical devices, robotics, or capital equipment.
Foundational knowledge across mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, software troubleshooting.
Experience with installation, commissioning, sustaining support, calibration, or preventive maintenance.
Familiarity with GMP/ISO and hospital environments.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Willingness to travel domestically up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Set up, install, commission, inspect, maintain, repair, and de-install robotic medical systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and system issues using documented tools.
Respond to scheduled and unscheduled service needs to ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.
Complete inspections, software/firmware updates, and service validations per procedures.
Escalate complex issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Coordinate with hospital staff for visit logistics and OR requirements.
Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and equipment inventory.
Manage spare parts and service assets in line with inventory controls.
Follow hospital privacy, GMP/ISO, and safety requirements.
Balance planned work with customer needs and travel.
Share knowledge and participate in training to improve service.
Contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing service data.
Build productive relationships with customers and colleagues.
Provide status updates and flag risks to support teams.
