1X is building humanoid robots for home use, and the Hardware team in San Carlos seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design lightweight, integrated structures that house actuators, electronics, and sensors. You will drive from concept through production with manufacturability in mind.

You will apply FEA and first-principles analysis, run tests to validate performance, and collaborate across electrical, thermal, and manufacturing disciplines to deliver robust hardware at scale.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in designing highly integrated mechanical systems under tight packaging.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and delivering engineering drawings, BOMs, and specs.

Aufgaben

• Design and release structural components and assemblies meeting performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability goals.
• Develop highly integrated structures that package actuators, electronics, mechanisms, sensors, wiring and thermal hardware.
• Use structural FEA and first-principles analysis to drive design decisions and optimize mass and stiffness.
• Design and execute structural tests to validate assumptions and iterations.
• Lead concept to production release and drive DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, materials, test and manufacturing teams on interfaces.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve DFM issues and support ramp.
• Support hardware through production ramp and continuous improvement.
