1X is building humanoid robots for home use. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design and iterate mechanical systems from concept to production, ensuring safety, durability, and manufacturability for real-world use.

You will own components, collaborate with robotics, electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams, and drive prototyping, testing, and validation to scale. This fast-paced role offers equity and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1–2+ years designing mechanical systems in a product development environment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA).
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Design and release mechanical components and electromechanical assemblies meeting performance and reliability requirements.
• Develop prototypes and production-ready hardware through rapid design and testing cycles.
• Apply analysis and validation to improve product performance and data-driven decisions.
• Drive design for manufacturability, assembly, and cost optimization across development.
