Job summary

1X is building humanoid robots with a focus on reliable, scalable actuators and assemblies. The Actuators team designs the mechanical systems that enable high-performance actuation, collaborating with electrical, controls, firmware, test, and manufacturing groups to deliver production-ready hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficient with CAD tools (SolidWorks / Onshape / Inventor).
• Experience creating production-quality drawings and docs.
• Understanding tolerances, fits and materials.
• Hands-on prototyping and hardware iteration.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate mechanical systems for high-performance actuation.
• Contribute to actuator development from concept to production.
• Define tolerances and interface documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical and controls teams.
• Support rapid prototyping and testing.
