Job summary

The Ion endoluminal system is Intuitive's robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung. The Robotic Algorithms and Controls Manager leads a high‑performing team responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of robotic control algorithms powering Ion.

The role spans mechanical, software, electrical, and quality/regulatory domains and requires cross‑functional collaboration to deliver safe, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS, ME, or Robotics; masters with relevant experience considered.
• 4+ years as individual contributor and 2+ years in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Systems Analysts; manage capacity and talent growth.
• Oversee cross-functional interfaces and program reviews; communicate status.
• Guide design decisions with FDA/ISO design control practices.
• Contribute technically in control theory, verification, and safety.
