Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Spyderco, Inc., a reputable manufacturing company specializing in knives and accessories, is seeking a Machine Operator to run our Robotic Sharpening Hand Machine. Located in Golden, CO, our company is recognized for excellence and offers a convenient location with various leisure activities.

This position involves operating equipment for cutting, fabricating, and manufacturing high-quality knife blades. Responsibilities include material handling, machine setup, quality inspections, and ensuring safety standards. The primary focus is on safely sharpening blades using automated equipment and robotics.

Schedule and Compensation

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:30 pm – 7:30 am (training from 7 am – 4 pm for 30-90 days)

Pay: $23-$24/hr plus a $3.00 shift differential, adjusted based on experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain machines and programs.
  • Adjust machines for different blade shapes and steel types.
  • Load and unload blades in automated machines.
  • Inspect blades for flaws before and after sharpening.
  • Follow process and safety procedures diligently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Cross-train on different machines for flexibility.
Essential Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in CNC mill operations.
  • Experience with setting CNC jobs and making G-code adjustments is preferred.
  • Relevant schooling or courses are a plus.
  • Proficient with measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Ability to read manufacturing documents and specifications.
  • Knife knowledge is a plus.
