JOB TITLE: Equipment Machine Operator

M - F 3rd shift 10:00 pm - 6:30 am

Job Summary

The primary functions of this job require accountability for manufacturing procedures and associated documentation for automated manufacturing equipment and processes. This includes material handling functions, inspecting product, testing, assembling, packaging bonding, or welding components, subassemblies, together in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and written procedures.

Essential Duties

  • Takes ownership over all aspects of automated processes and procedures including training (spares production area), safety, quality, and efficiencies.
  • Applies technique and quality criteria for use of specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Assembles , tests, Troubleshoots, calibrates and packages highly complex mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies.
  • Applies extensive knowledge to adhere to GMP compliance on the manufacturing floor.
  • Identifies potential issues that may impact production schedules and is a key contributor in formulating the response to maintain those schedules.
  • Detects non-conforming product and despositions according to company procedure.
  • Operates automated equipment along with associated work cells, including start up and shut down. Executes and maintains monthly production schedule.
  • Works with and assists engineers, leadership, buyers, planners, material handlers and technicians in problem solving of quality and safety, production process, and raw material issues including prototyping, speciality buids, validations and implementing new materials, designs, maintenance and process improvements. .
  • Performs backflushing, area clearance, and setup of work stations.
  • Performs documentation and regulatory record keeping as defined in the standard operating procedures for manufacturing. This includes but not limited to device history records, work order generation and product labels.
  • Provides and receive constructive work direction and feedback without shutting down communication among team members.
  • Performs quality control checks on finished products and documentation prior to release. This includes processing and packaging returned goods from customers/vendors and finished goods inventory.
  • Ensures efficiency of material loading and unloading for automated processes.
  • Conducts thorough practices with inspecting, packaging, and labeling of product.
  • Assists with process verifications and initiates work orders for automated processes.
  • Contributes to resolution and sorting of PDF products and processes.
  • Requires the ability to work overtime to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrates high proficiency with the use of required hand-tools and test equipment.
  • Applies technique and quality criteria for soldering as well as use of specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Interfaces frequently with computer and understands navigational functions with HMI's (Human Machine Interface).

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • May assist with covering areas in material handling.
  • May be required to assist leadership with floor coverage and coordination.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical background is required.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Experience in Process Control (PC) testing and molding/welding quality requirements is preferred.
  • Working knowledge with HMI interactions is preferred.
  • Process knowledge of the Auto Cell and RF work centers is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and maintained competency in all areas required at the assembler level.

Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols required for operating automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions; reason through mathematical word problems; and read tables, scales, graphs, and charts quickly and accurately.
  • Understanding usage of the English language; good understanding of words used in business and regulatory environments; ability to memorize different terms oand their meanings; and ability to read, comprehend and generate reports, documents, procedures,etc. that may be technical in nature.
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing operating procedures that apply to technical, automated, semi-automated operating systems as well as assembling, testing, and packaging of mechanical and electronic subassemblies and packaging of electromechanical medical devices using safe handling and assembly techniques..
  • Understanding of mechanical principles and analysis of mechanical movement. Attention to detail for spotting imperfections or flaws and ability to identify a simple figure that is part of a complete drawing, able to visuilze how separate pieces will work as a whole.
  • Require extensive knowledge and understanding of process control activities and functions.
  • Strong team cooperation and ability to prioritize workload to meet schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to make decisions based on changes and multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic subassemblies and electromechanical medical devices using safe handling and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to continue learning and increase competency in of specialty tools such as digital volt meters (DVM), torgue wrenches, etc. Demonstrate high proficiency with the use of required hand tools and test equipment.

Physical Requirements

Manufacturing Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.

  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to maintain pace with the area assigned.
  • Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work under florescent lighting.
  • Requires the ability to bond using repetitive moderate force gripping.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.

Target Pay Range: $22.00 to $28.00 - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
