Job description

The Role

Getting a robot into a customer's facility, installed and running well enough that it changes how that customer works, is one of the most important things we do. We're looking for a founding Robot Deployment Engineer to be the person who makes that happen, again and again, in environments we don't fully control: installing robots on-site, diagnosing issues for customers, and keeping the whole fleet running, in the field and back in our office, along with representing us at tradeshows.

This is a hands-on role, both in our Seattle office and on the road. Day to day, you'll maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot our fleet of robots in-house, keeping them running for the engineering team. When it's time to deploy, you'll travel to set up and calibrate robots on-site, work with customers to automate their real tasks, and troubleshoot whatever comes up when the environment doesn't match what worked back at headquarters. You'll travel, sometimes on short notice, domestically and internationally, because that's where the robots are. And because you're the one with hands on the hardware, in-house and in the field, you'll also be one of our most important sources of truth: what breaks, what confuses customers, what the engineering team got wrong about how this thing actually gets used.

Beyond installs, you'll represent Reflection Robotics at tradeshows and help with data collection efforts that feed directly into our models. As a founding hire, there's no playbook yet for a lot of this. You'll help write it.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot robots in our Seattle office to keep the fleet ready for engineering and deployment
  • Set up, install, and calibrate robots at customer sites
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support installations and ongoing customer needs
  • Work directly with customers to automate their specific tasks and workflows
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and setup issues in the field, often without engineering on-site
  • Relay clear, detailed feedback from the field back to the engineering team to drive product improvements
  • Represent the company at tradeshows and customer-facing events
  • Support data collection efforts, both in the field and in-house
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:
  • Comfortable and hands-on with physical robot setup, installation, and calibration
  • Willing and able to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally
  • Strong communicator, able to translate field observations into actionable feedback for engineers
  • Comfortable being customer-facing, including at tradeshows and on-site visits
  • High ownership and adaptability: you're willing to wear many hats and figure things out without a fixed playbook
  • Ability to work in-person in Seattle on weekdays when not traveling
Nice-to-haves:
  • Prior experience installing, maintaining, or servicing robots or industrial equipment in the field
  • Experience working directly with customers in manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Familiarity with basic troubleshooting of sensors, actuators, or embedded systems
  • Experience supporting data collection for robotics or ML applications
  • A valid passport and readiness for international travel

We care much more about how you think and what you've built than a specific degree or years-of-experience number. If you've done work that maps to this but doesn't check every box above, we'd still like to hear from you.
