Job summary

Chelan County Comunty Development Dept. seeks a heavy equipment operator to drive trucks transporting materials to and from project sites, using dump bodies to move sand, gravel, and other materials, and to assist in road construction tasks.

The role requires a valid WA driver license with Class A CDL tanker endorsement, Flagger card, and First Aid/CPR/AED. Overtime opportunities and annual step progression are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid WA driver license with Class A CDL tanker endorsement; Flagger card; and First Aid/CPR/AED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and work to grade stakes.
• Drive trucks to destinations in a safe and lawful manner.
• Maintain radio contact with supervisor for instructions.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, etc.).
• Load and unload truck and secure loads for transit.
• Operate site equipment as required and perform minor repairs.
• Flagging duties as assigned.
• Digging and material transport tasks as needed.
