Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Technician Associate based in Latimer, IA. The role involves roadside maintenance, equipment operation, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

On-site work with standard daytime shifts and occasional on-call duties during emergencies; residency within 45 minutes of Latimer is required within five months of hire. Benefits include competitive pay, health/dental, IPERS, and paid time off.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must obtain CDL permit upon hire.
• Class A endorsements within 5 months of hire.
• Successful U.S. DOT Clearinghouse check.
• Pre-employment physical and drug screening; participates in ongoing testing.
• Pesticide/herbicide certifications may be required as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Patch roadway and repair/maintain guardrails, signs, fences, lighting, culverts and waterways.
• Assist with traffic control for maintenance activities.
• Operate snow equipment to remove snow, ice and frost from roadways.
• Mow, trim brush, perform vegetation control and spraying.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of DOT equipment and vehicles.
