Job summary

State of Iowa seeks a Highway Technician Associate to perform hands-on roadside maintenance in Latimer. You will patch roadways, service signs and guardrails, and help with traffic control and snow removal. The role requires a CDL permit on hire and progress toward a Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency.
• CDL permit required on hire; Class A CDL within 5 months after hire.
• Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
• U.S. DOT Clearinghouse check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Patch roadways and maintain road surfaces.
• Repair and maintain guardrails, signs, fences, lighting, culverts, and waterways.
• Assist in traffic control for maintenance activities.
• Mow and control vegetation; spray as needed.
• Operate snow equipment to clear roads; perform routine DOT equipment maintenance.
