Job summary

Traffic Safety Services is hiring Seasonal Traffic Safety Technicians for permanent installation and pavement marking projects. The role involves outdoor work, travel to job sites, and operating traffic control devices and pavement marking equipment.

Starting wage is $20/hour with prevailing wage options between $30.80 and $34.30/hour on eligible projects. Strong safety emphasis and team collaboration are vital for success in this outdoor, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Experience operating forklift and skid steer preferred.
• Ability to read traffic control plans, pavement marking plans, maps, and project specs.
• Ability to operate trucks, trailers, and equipment, including hooking up and backing trailers.
• Basic math skills, including reading a tape measure.
• Reliable means of communication for schedules and updates.
• Strong work ethic; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, good organization, and safety commitment.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to work varying schedules, overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles while traveling to and from job sites.
• Deliver, install, maintain, remove, and transport traffic control devices for roadway construction projects.
• Assist with layout, installation, and application of pavement markings.
• Install and maintain permanent traffic signs and safety devices.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload trucks, trailers, equipment, and materials independently.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, small grinders, and other roadway equipment.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and maintain daily service checks.
• Provide shop, yard, and inventory organization and cleaning.
• Safely handle traffic control devices and construction materials.
• Collaborate with other departments to complete projects safely and on schedule.
