Job summary

RailPros seeks a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to provide on-site roadway worker protection around live railroad tracks and coordinate job-site activities.

Travel across multiple states is required, with per diems and mileage reimbursement offered. The RWIC will lead safety briefings, manage communications with dispatch, and ensure compliance with on-track safety rules while supporting a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 20 years of experience in track inspection supervision or RWIC role.
• Background checks and drug/alcohol testing required.
• Willingness to travel across multiple states as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide required jobsite protection per rules and coordinate with train dispatchers.
• Conduct daily job briefings and ensure safety compliance on-site.
• Prepare and submit electronic forms for flagging, reports, and invoices.
• Place signs, derail and related equipment weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
• Participate in safety classes and ongoing qualification training.
• Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors and management about assignments.
