Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Roadway Engineer to support design and delivery of roadway projects across Wisconsin, including WisDOT collaborations. The role involves planning through final design, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring quality and safety in transportation solutions.

The position may be located in Madison, Milwaukee, or Appleton, WI, with a hybrid work policy. Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree and an EIT, with 2+ years of relevant experience and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of roadway or transportation engineering experience.
• Experience delivering WisDOT transportation projects and working with Wisconsin design standards and specifications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of roadway and highway improvement projects for WisDOT.
• Prepare the development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), design calculations, technical reports, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Utilize ORD, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop roadway geometry, corridor models, alignments, profiles, and construction plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, drainage, structures, environmental, utilities, and construction professionals.
• Coordinate with WisDOT staff, municipalities, and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform and oversee quality reviews to ensure compliance with WisDOT standards and guidelines.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including design clarifications and field reviews.
