Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. in Alabama is seeking a Roadway Project Engineer to contribute to delivering infrastructure solutions across urban streets, rural highways and interchanges.

You will perform technical design and prepare plan sets, collaborating with project teams and clients to meet project goals. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering, a PE license, at least 5 years of roadway design experience, and familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer; ALDOT experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 5+ years of roadway design experience is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Experience with ALDOT policies and procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
• Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
• Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
• Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve challenges.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.
• Conducts on-site visits, as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as requested.
