As a Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor for the Department of Transportation, you will help direct key maintenance efforts that support safe and reliable travel in Monroe County. This position provides an active role in evaluating work needs, guiding staff, and monitoring essential resources. You will be part of a team that works together to keep roadway programs organized and on track. This position plays a central role in coordinating roadway and bridge maintenance activities while overseeing technical and administrative support for Monroe County. It focuses on planning, evaluating resources, and guiding staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. As a Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Oversight: Monitor roadway and bridge maintenance programs and guide staff in daily operations
- Work Plan Support: Assist county leaders in developing and adjusting the Annual Work Plan throughout the year
- Budget Monitoring: Review fiscal reports, track available funds, and advise management on resource needs
- Inventory Control: Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuing of tools, materials, and equipment
- Staff Leadership: Plan and evaluate the work of subordinates and provide training and guidance
- Operational Evaluation: Review reports and conditions to recommend adjustments for scheduled maintenance work
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,008 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Technician 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the analysis, development and implementation of methods and techniques in a roadway maintenance management system and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or in a civil engineering related discipline; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires a valid Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
