Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Professional Engineer for Roadway to lead planning, design and analysis of freeways, interstates, interchanges, and various roadways. You will own projects from start to finish under PM or Senior Roadway Engineer guidance.

You will prepare studies, reports and cost estimates while applying AASHTO and DOT standards. Collaboration with multiple disciplines and mentoring of junior staff are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in Idaho or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in roadway transportation engineering.
• Experience collaborating with ACHD, City of Caldwell, City of Nampa and other local agencies.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform planning, design, and analysis of freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use paths.
• Prepare transportation studies, memoranda, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Apply AASHTO, DOT, and local standards to develop roadway designs.
• Coordinate roadway design with drainage, traffic, utilities, structures, and right-of-way disciplines.
• Support the Project Manager in maintaining scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Take responsibility for assigned design tasks and ensure timely delivery and quality.
