Job summary

GFT in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Office Engineer to lead roadway-related transportation projects onsite. You will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, working with a seasoned team on culvert rehabilitation and highway construction inspections.

You will manage records, interact with engineers, and support in reporting, scheduling, and budgeting to keep projects on track and within scope.

Qualifications

• Nicet III or equivalent experience in engineering/construction.
• 5+ years of related experience, previous Office Engineer role.
• Experience with Construction Management, Scheduling, and Document Management software.
• Proficient in SiteManager, CEES, or similar systems.
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, logs, daily reports, and change orders.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• OSHA Safety Training.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain construction project records.
• Interface with Resident Engineer and senior staff on change orders, payments, and materials testing.
• Attend project meetings and assist in preparing reports.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and maintain project logs.
• Review daily inspection reports and quantity computations.
• Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
• Assign tasks and coordinate work with junior staff.
