Job summary

GFT is seeking an experienced Office Engineer - Roadway to join our Construction Services team in Central Connecticut. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity to support roadway transportation projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in the field.

As an Office Engineer, you will play a key role in construction inspection services for culvert rehabilitation and replacement projects, gaining hands-on experience with federally and state-funded projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience with Office Engineer role.
• Experience with Construction Management, Scheduling, and Document Management software.
• Proficiency with MS Office and site inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain construction project records.
• Interface with the Resident Engineer and senior inspection staff on contract change orders, item payments, and material testing.
• Attend project meetings and assist in preparing meeting reports.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly progress reports and maintain project logs.
• Review daily inspection reports and quantity computations.
• Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
• Assign tasks and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.
