Job summary

GFT seeks a Roadway Inspector to join our Construction Services team in New York, NY. This full-time, onsite role leads roadway transportation projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence in the field.

The candidate will observe contractor performance, document progress, and prepare weekly and monthly reports while coordinating with field staff and the client. A background in NYSDOT projects is preferred and OSHA 30 training is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of transportation construction inspection experience.
• Willing to work nights.
• Valid driver’s license and OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Exposure to NYSDOT, NYSTA, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, or Metro-North Railroad projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily observation of roadway and bridge construction operations.
• Coordinate with client and project team; prepare and review reports.
• Track project documentation and monthly payment estimates.
• Log submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings; coordinate responses with designers.
• Support site safety, permit compliance, and quality requirements.
