Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Kiowa, CO. The role involves on-call patrol work, operating heavy equipment, and hands-on road maintenance to keep Colorado roadways safe and reliable.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, 40-hour weeks with overtime during weather events, and a 4-day summer schedule. A valid CDL Class A or B is required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no restriction on air brakes.
• Willing to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours and work overtime including weekends and holidays.
• May be required to live within thirty (30) minutes' driving time to respond promptly.

Responsabilités

• Plowing snow.
• Operate heavy equipment (truck, loader, tractor mower).
• Mow grass and weeds.
• Remove debris from roadways, including rock, mud, and deceased animals.
• Install and repair guardrails, signs and lighting.
• Fill potholes and roadway cracks.
• Set out traffic control signs and cones.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
• Follow safety guidelines and wear proper PPE.
