Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation seeks skilled Transportation Maintenance Tech I–III to support roadways and maintenance crews across McMullen County. The role includes operating heavy equipment, installing signs and posts, performing PMI inspections, and assisting law enforcement and motorists in emergencies.

Applicants must have a CDL A with N endorsement (Tech I/II) or CDL A (Tech III) and meet the stated experience levels.

Qualifications

• Education: No education required.
• Tech I/II/III experience levels: I=none; II=1 year; III=2 years.
• CDL A with N endorsement required for Tech I/II; CDL A for Tech III.
• Experience in transportation maintenance or heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying, repairing and installing signs and posts.
• Operate heavy and light equipment as described in the job duties.
• Perform PMI inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Support local law enforcement and assist motorists as needed.
