Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is hiring for permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) in Greene County. Roles involve maintaining highways, flagging, and snow/ice operations, with CDL training provided if needed.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction and in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
  • Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
  • Carry out snow & ice operations as needed.
  • Attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already licensed.
  • Support public safety and contribute to Ohio road infrastructure maintenance.
