Job summary

The State of Ohio's Department of Transportation seeks a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) for the Moraine Garage in Montgomery County, on a 3rd shift schedule. The role involves serving the public, performing highway maintenance tasks such as flagging, pothole repair, mowing, snow and ice operations, and attending CDL training if not licensed.

Full-time with OCSEA union benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic and basic English reading/writing skills.
• CDL with tanker endorsement, no airbrake restriction.
• Experience in highway maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and keep Ohio roads safer.
• Attend CDL training if not licensed.
• Perform highway maintenance tasks: flagging, pothole repair, guardrails, litter, mowing.
