State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Worker I (S) to operate a range of tools and heavy equipment for road maintenance and construction in Division 1. Duties include safety inspections, work-zone operations, snow and ice removal, and assisting with signs and maintenance tasks.

Require high school diploma or GED, and CDL eligibility within 360 days of hire. Expect extended hours in adverse weather and rural field duties across listed counties.

Formación

• Experience operating power tools such as chainsaw, weed eater, skill saw, drill, compactor, jackhammer, etc.
• Experience using small hand tools like shovels, rakes, brooms, post hole diggers, hammer, screwdriver, torch, etc.
• Must be able to meet CDL requirements within 360 days of hire or possess current CDL.

Responsabilidades

• Operate standard hand tools, power equipment, vehicles and heavy equipment for maintenance and construction of roads.
• Inspect work, ensure work zone safety and participate in snow and ice removal.
• Assist in flagging, sign installation and other duties as needed, including equipment operation and vegetation work.
