South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a maintenance worker to support road and bridge upkeep on the state highway system. Role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, working outdoors in all weather, and possible extended hours during emergencies or severe weather.

Qualifications

• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Attainment of a Class A CDL within six months of placement.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs and works in variable weather conditions.
• No minimum training or experience requirements specified.

Responsabilités

• Assist in maintenance, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges on the state highway system.
• Operate dump trucks and flatbed trucks for hauling materials and debris.
• Operate small equipment (brush chipper, rollers, broom sweepers, pipe washers) as needed.
• Flag traffic to control flow and protect workers and the public.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance, including signs, drainage, and paving tasks.
• May require extended hours during inclement weather or emergencies.
