Job summary

State of Ohio in Fremont, OH is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker/Technician to support road safety and road maintenance operations. The role includes flagging, pothole repair, guardrail work, litter pickup, mowing, and snow/ice response with shift hours from 6:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

The position requires a Class B CDL with tanker endorsement (no air brake restriction) and related arithmetic literacy.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

• You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
• You will perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• You will perform snow & ice operations.
