South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a maintenance worker to support the construction, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges on the state highway system. Duties include operating dump trucks and light equipment, performing vegetation management, sign maintenance, and drainage work under supervision.

The role requires a valid driver's license, with a Class A CDL to be obtained within six months.

Qualificações

• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• CDL Class A must be attained within six months of placement.
• There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in maintenance of roads and bridges on the state highway system under direct supervision.
• Operate 5-yard dump trucks and flatbed trucks for hauling materials.
• Use small equipment for vegetation management, sign installation and drainage work.
• Flag traffic to protect workers and the public during repairs.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain equipment in fleet safety programs.
