Job summary

MoDOT’s Hannibal Maintenance Facility is hiring a maintenance worker to perform routine duties maintaining roadways and facilities under supervision. The role offers care er ladder progression, with allowances for winter/emergency pay adjustments and a defined benefits package.

Positions are entry-level to senior level based on skills and experience, with CDL prerequisites and safety exams required within 60 days of hire. Strong teamwork and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must pass CDL knowledge test and road test (60 days after hire) with tanker endorsement and class B interstate status.
• Successful completion of a work simulation and medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state highway systems, including filling joints, patching potholes, traffic control, and material handling.
• Maintain, clean, and repair state highway facilities and signage.
• Operate vehicles and equipment to transport personnel and materials, including snow plowing.
• May install signs, pour concrete footings, weld posts, and inspect structural elements.
• May work outdoors in varying conditions and overtime/night shifts as needed.
