Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Valid Driver's License.
• CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions, interstate status within 60 days.
• Work simulation and medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems, including filling roadway joints and cracks and patching potholes; flagging traffic; setting up signs and traffic control devices; loading, unloading, spreading, and hauling materials; cutting and clearing brush; removing trash and debris from roadsides; cleaning ditches.
• Maintains, cleans, and repairs state highway facilities, including repairing road signs and guardrails; cleaning curbs and gutters; painting buildings and equipment; servicing equipment and machinery.
• Operates vehicles to transport employees, equipment, or materials; plow snow and spread ice control materials; mow right of way; operate auger, trencher, backhoe, forklift, and various trucks.
• May repair bridge decks and drains; clean bridge bents/caps using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install signs, inspect signs, pour concrete sign footings, weld and cut sign posts, and maintain signs.

Education

High School Diploma or GED/HiSET

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement (Class B) and interstate status within 60 days after hire
