MoDOT seeks a dedicated maintenance worker to perform routine duties maintaining Missouri’s roadways and facilities under direct supervision. The position may be entry-level, intermediate, or senior, with a CAREER-LADDER path offering advancement without a competitive interview.

The role involves hands-on work, traffic control, equipment operation, and potential overtime or nighttime duties to ensure road safety and infrastructure integrity across Richmond, MO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CDL exam written component and tanker endorsement required within 60 days after hire; inter-state status with no air brake restrictions.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsabilités

• Maintains state highway systems, including filling roadway joints and cracks, patching potholes, flagging and directing traffic, and setting up signs and traffic control devices.
• Maintains state highway facilities, including repairing/ replacing signs and guardrails, cleaning curbs, painting buildings and equipment, and servicing equipment.
• Operates vehicles to transport employees, equipment, or materials, or to warn traffic; plows snow and spreads ice control materials; mows right of way with tractor mower and hand tools; operates auger, trencher, backhoe, forklift and various trucks.
• May repair bridge decks and drains; may clean bridges and caps at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install signs, inspect signs, pour concrete footings, weld/cut steel sign posts, and repair break-away/overlay signs.
