Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Highway Technician Assistant I at 911 South Main Street, Williamstown, KY. The role requires operating light and snow‑related equipment, assisting in surveying, and performing maintenance to support highway operations.

Applicants must be 18+, hold a valid driver’s license, and pursue required trainings (CDL Class B, First Aid, Snow & Ice, Traffic Control/Flagger, OSHA 10). The position is full-time with overtime eligibility under the EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate.
• Experience, training, or skills: None.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE.
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE.
• Special requirements: 18+, valid driver’s license; within 12 months obtain Class B CDL; within 1 year First Aid, Snow & Ice Training, Traffic Control/Flagger and OSHA 10.

Responsibilities

• Operate a small single axle dump truck to haul materials to and from job sites.
• Operate dump trucks with snow plow and salt spreader in winter months.
• Operate tractor-type mowing machine, assist in brush cutting, and use chemical sprayers.
• Learn and assist with basic surveying activities or construction projects.
• Flag for operations requiring traffic control.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment.
