Job summary

MoDOT is hiring for a maintenance worker at the Greenfield Maintenance Facility. You will perform routine, entry-level highway and facility upkeep under supervision, with a path to advancement through a CAREER-LADDER program.

This role requires basic qualifications, physical stamina, and the ability to work outdoors across various weather conditions, with on-call potential and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL exam prerequisites after hire.
• Able to pass written CDL exam; tanker endorsement and certain restrictions addressed within 60 days.
• Pass work simulation and medical-physical examinations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state highway systems: joints, potholes, traffic control, signs, cones, and debris removal.
• Repair and maintain highway facilities: signs, guardrails, curbs, painting, servicing equipment.
• Operate vehicles to transport people/equipment and assist with snow/ice control; perform mowing and use heavy machinery.
• May repair bridges/decks and drains; work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install/repair signs and signage footings; weld/cut steel sign posts as needed.
