Job summary

The State of Vermont’s Transportation Agency in Rockingham, VT is seeking a Transportation Operations Technician II. You will perform a variety of highway maintenance tasks including shoulder work, patching, litter pickup, and seasonal snowplow duties.

CDL with tanker endorsement or progression through Technician I is required, with overtime potential in winter. New hires may qualify for a sign-on/retention bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor, including either one season of snowplow operation with wings or six months of operating medium or heavy equipment.
• Possession of a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, or successful completion of probation as Transportation Operations Technician I.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, cut trees/brush, patch roads, pick litter, ditch, and other highway maintenance tasks.
• Winter duties include plowing and salting; overtime may be required.
• Assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
