Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist (Limited Duration) in Klamath Falls. This role involves operating a range of equipment to maintain roadways, bridges and structures, and supporting emergency response and weather-related operations.

The position is limited duration with potential to become permanent and offers a comprehensive benefits package. You will be part of the Delivery & Operations Division – Region 4 Maintenance Crew, with duties across

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.
• CDL-A required with no air brake restrictions, no 5th wheel restrictions and no manual transmission restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways, bridges and structures.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and snow removal operations.
• Perform minor surface repairs including potholes and concrete patching.
• Maintain drainage systems, fences, guardrails, milepost markers and vegetation along roadways.
