Qualifications

• Effective communication, both oral and written.
• Must obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment and maintain.
• Capable of heavy manual labor.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials and procedures.
• Safety shoes required.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Experience operating light, medium, and heavy duty equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain road maintenance equipment and tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Read and follow plans and sketches and execute maintenance tasks.
• Work as part of a team to complete assignments.
• Maintain inventory records and documentation.
• Follow MUTCD and traffic control standards during roadside work.
