Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking workers to operate light, medium and heavy highway equipment and to perform maintenance and manual labor tasks on roadways. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Emergency Operations: operate light to heavy-duty equipment for maintenance and construction tasks.
• Emergency snow removal and roadway debris clearance; provide traffic control.
• Operate and maintain equipment; perform preventive maintenance as required.
• Follow MUTCD for detours, lane closures and work zones; ensure safe work zones.
• Participate as a crew member to complete projects; perform manual labor as needed.
