Job summary

The State of South Carolina, through the Department of Transportation, seeks a Crew Foreman to supervise mowing of rights of way and related maintenance activities in Barnwell County. You will manage crews, maintain records, and schedule equipment for preventive maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities include overseeing sign operations, reporting on maintenance, preparing daily and weekly reports, and handling on-call duties during adverse weather.

Qualifications

• Three and one-half (3.5) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervises crew mowing rights of way, including removing trees, bushes and shrubbery.
• Maintains records and maps of mowing operations and schedules equipment.
• Oversees sign operations in Barnwell County, including installation, repairs and upgrades.
• Reviews and reports maintenance work and prepares daily/weekly time and leave reports.
• Performs duties during snow/ice and other inclement weather events; on-call after hours.
