Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader in Missouri to supervise crews, set up work zones, and perform highway maintenance tasks along with operating a range of heavy equipment. This role requires a CDL with tanker endorsement and five years of related experience.

The ideal candidate will oversee material usage, maintain records, and inspect bridges and roadways to assess maintenance needs. A medical-physical exam will be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and interstate status; no air brake restrictions.
• Five years of experience in roadway, roadside, bridge or sign maintenance.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews during maintenance operations and set up work zones.
• Operate highway maintenance equipment (tractors, dozers, trucks, graders, snowplows).
• Oversee material usage and prepare reports; assist with employee records.
• Oversee routine maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Inspect bridges and roadways to determine maintenance needs and progress.
• May install signs and repair/maintain signs.
